Up the mountain we go…

An excerpt from some past writings (7-16-04)…Sometimes by looking back at where I was, helps me to see how God brought me to where I am. At times in life, we must reflect, learn, and move forward. If we forget to move forward, we are missing the point of reflection. Reflection is to see where you are or were in order to move you to where you want or should be. This excerpt is coming up on 6 years old and boy has God brought me a long way since then.

Climbing up the mountain’s side
Noticed i was missing something
i began to back down the cliff
Not wanting to continue my climb
Scared, dazed and shaking
i slowly moved downward
Taking my eyes off the goal
My feet sliding of the rocks
Clinching tightly to the stones
My hands start to slip
Shouting and crying out for help
Realizing i was deceived
i had all i needed all along
That evil little voice lied
Convincing me i needed to turn back
Tears slowly trickle down
One last time i cry out
Thinking i was all alone on this trip
A small still voice whispers
Remember you are not alone
I have been here all along
Holding your hand without fail
See that stone in your hand
Look close and you will see
That you are not doing this alone
Never forget I am all you need
you must never give in again
Keep climbing without fear
you will never fall
As long as I have your hand
After hearing those words
i looked up rock and climbed
Using all i have for the One
The One who holds me up
Never giving up again

May we remember the One who is with us always and move with Him each moment of our life.
